Pazhassi Short Film Festival • Web & Physical Venue Access
The Pazhassi Short Film Festival (PSFF), organized by Drishtidosham Chalachithravedi and Pazhassi Raja Smaraka Granthalayam, is committed to making our festival screenings, physical venues, and digital platforms as inclusive and accessible as possible for filmmakers, jurors, and audience members.
1. Digital Portal & Web Accessibility
Our submission portal, evaluation workspace, and official website are built following web accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 principles):
- High-Contrast Typography: High-contrast color pairings across UI elements and text blocks for clear readability.
- Semantic HTML Architecture: Proper heading hierarchies, structured tables, landmark regions, and form labels to support assistive technologies.
- Keyboard Navigable: Complete keyboard accessibility for submitting entry forms, modal dialogs, and rubric scoring interfaces.
- Responsive Layouts: Scalable viewports and fluid sizing that function cleanly across mobile devices, tablets, and desktop displays without loss of content.
2. Film Screenings & Subtitles
To ensure non-Malayalam speakers, jury members, and individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing can fully engage with competition entries:
- All non-English language submissions are required to include clear, legible English subtitles for both preliminary screening and festival theater projection.
- Burned-in or embedded closed-caption tracks are accepted and encouraged during registration.
3. Physical Festival Venue
Festival public screenings take place at Veena - Varna Theatre, Mananthavady:
- Ground-level entry points and wheelchair-accessible seating options are available inside the cinema auditorium.
- Our volunteer reception team will be present at the theater entrance to assist visitors requiring mobility support, reserved seating, or special assistance.
